  1. I introduced Christine (because I was the MC that night) in the Makumbe Rooms in Lusaka and she sang 'The Fields of Athenry' probably the first in Africa? It wad sensational. Why am I commenting? Tonight we asked Google to play The Fury Brothers on Spotify and it reminded me of that wonderful evening.

  2. I met Christine Patterson-O'Dowd after the St Francis Song Competition in Ennis. I think it was her Mother who sought me out and introduced me to Christine because they descended from the Adamson Family. At the time they asked if I descended from The Scottish Presbyterians and I said no,the Lancashire Catholics. That was back in 1982 and since then have discovered that the Adamson Clan were part of the King James VI dispersion and they were moved to Lancashire, so it would appear I am
distantly related to The Patterson's albeit about 400 years ago.
Christine gave the best performance of the night and the audience gave her an amazing warm response. I could best describe her performance as charismatic and to have a conversation with her for a good part of the evening was an honour to meet not only a great singer but a great personality. It is certainly a Claim to Fame for my alter ego
